I love getting away to the countryside so when Boon Hee asked if we wanted to visit Mount Dandenong, in my mind i was already screaming "yes!". It was seriously a lovely sight; filled with dense woods and the feeling of cold air hitting your face, the smell of pastries and guilty pleasures, and the colors of pretty flowers lining up nearby. It was truly a getaway from the city life, something we all need every once in a while.

Brunch was at Miss Marple's Tea Room, a quaint little place that seemed like it popped out of an old English setting. The place was filled with people and packed to the brim, so much so that we had to wait quite a bit before being seated. The desserts actually looked mouth-watering but after our mains, none of us had any room for more.

Chicken cottage pie - delicious potato topped pie accompanied by 'Miss Marple's Own' sauce.

Quiche lorraine (egg & bacon) served with hot chipped potatoes and garden salad.

Fish and chips in a tempura batter served with hot chipped potatoes and fresh garden salad.

Plain scones served with 'Miss Marple's Own' delicious home-made jam and lashings of freshly whipped cream.

382 Mount Dandenong Tourist Road,
Sassafras VIC 3787.

We found a little alley that was just perfect for pictures so while the family went shopping for pretty teapots, Mel and i started our photo rampage. We caught the attention of a couple of passersby but it was all in good fun :)

Although it was a short getaway, we still had a great time. Definitely one of my favourite days of our trip, probably because i really needed a breather. Routine city life can be so draining sometimes.

when walls speak through art.

So sorry for being missing in action lately! I have quite a few posts coming up but bear with me, i am not as free as i used to be.

I'm sure everyone knows about the graffiti art that's splashed around the Melbourne walls. I think its pretty amazing how they can spray out such details without making any mistakes, what with that huge of a 'canvas'.  Sometimes i envy how i never had that little creative streak in me to be able to amaze people.

Decided to split my pictures into separate posts so as to be more organised so pardon me if some outfits are the same. Oh and in case you still don't know who's behind the camera..

Well, now you do.

much love

Greetings from Melbourne!

Gave my wide angle lens a first try at the view from our balcony and now i'm madly in love with it! Definitely no regrets getting this. What do you guys think?

Shaven zucchini salad with fennel, green olives, croutons and reggiano.

Crisp polenta with mushrooms and gorgonzola.

Duck, pancetta and sage ragu with pappardelle.

Spaghettini with crab, chilli and garlic.

Located in a warehouse, Cafe Sopra might not catch the eye of an unfamiliar person. The main entrance leads to the grocer, where people can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and upstairs, the cafe and more shopping treats. The menu is cleverly written on an enormous chalkboard but the only hassle is having everyone gather around to decide on their choice of food.

Fratelli Fresh is the main company i would say and they created Cafe Sopra as a subset. This particular one is located in Danks St, Waterloo and is the first one to open. They have 4 more stores around Sydney and i've tried the one in the city but somehow it couldn't compare to this one.

Definitely a must-try to whomever visits Sydney.

Address:
7 Danks Street,
Waterloo NSW 2017.
